What are the 4 Types of Botox?

Botox

Botox is the brand name that comprises Botulinum A Toxin and is widely used to remove wrinkles and fine lines. Issues like lazy eyes, neck spasms, and excessive sweating are also treated using Botox.

Botox temporarily paralyzes the microscopic muscle nerve endings. Botox is a painless non-surgical cosmetic treatment that does not primarily require a numbing agent to relieve pain.

Dysport

Dysport is the European counterpart of Botox formulated by a French company Ipsen. This non-invasive cosmetic treatment is also used primarily to remove wrinkles. Dysport also contains Botulinum A Toxin as its active ingredient.

Dysport is a more diluted form of Botulinum A Toxin and also spreads faster upon injecting. Dysport is most effective on large surface areas like forehead.

Xeomin

Like Botox and Dysport, Xeomin also comprises Botulinum Type A Toxin. Xeomin comes with no protein additives and proves to be quite effective for antibody resistance.

Xeomin has the ability to treat issues like crow’s feet, forehead lines, chronic sialorrhea, and excessive drooling.

Myobloc

Myobloc is a Botulinum Type B Toxin which is mainly used to treat cervical dystonia. This is the most different type of Botulinum Toxin compared to the other three. This FDA-approved product is the latest addition to the class of Botulinum Toxins.
